DelTech's 55-Plus Members Tour
Lighthouses

Sue Bennett of Milford, DE, (above)
unlocked the cast iron door at Delaware Breakwater East End Lighthouse
on Sept. 7 for a special tour sponsored by Delaware Technical and
Community College's 55-Plus program. Ms. Bennett is the great
grand daughter of Keeper Willard H. Hall, who was one of the first
keepers at the East End light, from 1885 to 1895. Fifteen
participants of the DelTech group and a few others (below) enjoyed a
perfect day for cruising to the East End and Harbor of Refuge
lighthouses.

2008 Tour Schedule
Not Set
(Don't call yet;
we'll let you know when)
The Foundation will select dates for 2008 tours later
this year. But we don't expect to put the calendar together until
late Fall.
2007 was a very successful tour season.
Most trips were sold out far in advance. And, with excellent
cooperation from Mother Nature, almost all of the tours were able to go
on as scheduled.
When 2008 dates are available, they will be posted on
this website and in the Foundation's newsletter. However, no
reservations will be taken until probably February.

See you

As always, Foundation

2007 Coast Day celebration. The event takes place on the campus of
the College of Marine Studies at the end of Pilottown Road, 10 a.m. to 4
p.m. Come see the
educational exhibits, eat the food, and -- of course -- visit us! |
